Why just be good at TVET !

Many countries aspire to having a skilled workforce with the right high-level skills that employers want and that their economy needs. All too often, we hear of education systems churning out thousands of highly qualified graduates - which great but, less than 20 to 30% of these graduates go on to find the jobs they want. So many graduates start their work journey back at the bottom of the career ladder - which quite frankly does not seem a good investment of time or money.

Employers often complain that education systems do not prepare young people with the work ready skills and attitude that are needed. These lacking skills range from basic maths, language and temworking skills, through being entrepreneurial, and into technical skills. This creates an environment of under-employment or unemployment - a situation that is not sustainable in the longer term and does not enable individual growth in the way that it should. Furthermore, it inhibits industrial competitiveness and productivity, allowing other nations to develop faster.

Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is a successful and proven route to employment that is coupled with work-based training. It allows anyone, of any capability, to climb the career ladder, whilst at the same time, learn real skills, earn a wage and contribute to society at large.

Our team of experts can support TVET system development and its implementation from the initial workforce research, through standards and curriculum development, to recognition and continuous professional development. Whatever you, your company or country are aspiring to achieve with TVET, you need to be talking to the Global Skills Ledger team.

Why aspire to be just 'good', when you can be the best !
